Why rehearse a small-business data migration?
A rehearsal exposes mapping, quality, permission, timing, and recovery problems on a safe sample before the full change affects daily work.
What the concept requires
- Use a representative but approved sample.
- Compare counts, key fields, relationships, permissions, and reports.
- Time the work and test the restoration path.
What the concept does not prove
- A sample may miss rare records and unusual permissions.
- A rehearsal does not authorize moving sensitive data into an unapproved environment.
