How should a small business limit access during a technology rollout?
Start with the minimum access each role needs, use a small pilot group, require separate administrative accounts, and review access before expanding.
What the concept requires
- Inventory roles before assigning permissions.
- Separate ordinary work from administrative actions.
- Remove temporary access on a dated schedule.
What the concept does not prove
- A role template cannot account for every contract, regulation, or operational exception.
- Access controls need monitoring, offboarding, and periodic review after launch.
